The Australian landscape is so diverse with its stunning coastlines, rugged mountains, wide open plains, red deserts and ancient rain forests. You don’t need to travel far to encounter its beauty. In fact, it could be right on your doorstep without you even realising it. All it takes is for you to look, then you’ll see the beauty.
This short excerpt from a poem I learnt in primary school sums up Australia and the love I have for my country.
I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror –
The wide brown land for me!
